„One Drive for all": FC 300-concept is further extended

Beside the well-known FC 302 Danfoss introduces the new FC 301, an entry-level solution for standard drive applications. At the same time Danfoss presents the extended concept of High-power drives with a power range up to 1,2 Megawatts.

Modular system design up to 1,2 Megawatts

Danfoss Motion Controls extends the „One Drive for All" concept of the VLT® AutomationDrive FC 300 platform for the first time with a power range up to 1,2 Megawatts. Nevertheless all drives of this platform – even the big ones – have a modular system design. By this they allow an optimal adoption to nearly every applications with their individual requests. The compact dimensions of the drives make them one of the smallest of their class.

For the cooling of the High-power drives Danfoss establish a completely new solution. 85 percent of the waste heat can directly be brought outside using the integrated fan of the VLT® drive. This avoids additional costs for further fans in the Rittal cabinet.

FC 301 – modular system and VVC+ vector control

For entry-level drive applications Danfoss introduces the new VLT® AtuomationDrive FC 301. It is an adequate member of the whole VLT® AutomationDrive series. For control it utilizes the proven VVC+ vector control. It is available as three-phase solution with a power range from 0,25 to 7.5 kW for 240 V and 400 V. As the FC 302 it is equipped with RFI filters and DC link reactors and has the same Smart Logic Controller for a free programable application control and logic rules. For communication a USB- as well as a RS485-interface is integrated in the drive.

Special feature: As the FC 301 has the same wiring and parameters as the FC 302, all available options can be used. The modular system design allows the optimal adoption to nearly every application. Thereby the user just has to pay for the functions, he really needs. However it is completely mounted and tested product.

MCO 305 – application developement with user-friendly tools

MCO305 is an integrated programmable Motion Controller for FC301 and FC302; it adds functionality and flexibility to the already very comprehensive standard functionality of these drives. It controls any kind of motor, from the standard AC motor over gear-motors up to high-dynamic servo motors without special adjustment of the programs. All application programs can be developed with only one easy to use software.

FC301 and FC302 with MCO305 is an intelligent drive offering highly accurate and dynamic motion control featuring synchronisation (electronic shaft), positioning and electronic CAM control. In addition the programmability offers the possibility to implement a variety of application functions such as monitoring and intelligent error handling.

Development of application programs for MCO305 and configuration/ commissioning is done via easy to use PC software tools integrated in VLT Motion Control Tools MCT10. The PC software tools includes programming editor with program examples, Cam profile editor as well as "test-run" and "scope" function for controller optimizing.
