Tecan Austria has won two prestigious business prizes for innovation awarded by the Chamber of Commerce of the Federal State of Salzburg for 2006. The judges voted Tecan as the best company in the industry category and then unanimously awarded Tecan the overall prize for innovation for all categories.
The jury chose the development of the Infinite™ 200 series of microplate readers as the most innovative of 41 projects entered, and said it represented a groundbreaking advance with unlimited applications in the biotechnology arena. As overall regional winner, Tecan will now join winners from the eight other Austrian states in a national poll to be judged in the Spring of 2007.
Michael Illek, General Manager and Head of Detection at Tecan Austria, said: “We are very proud of the award and pleased with the recognition it brings to the company as an enterprising employer. A prize for innovation in particular is an excellent reflection of what Tecan stands for, and we look forward to the national contest in 2007.”
