The FFG Ambulance-Lifting-Vehicle has been especially designed for the transfer of handicapped or hurt persons from the gate to the aircraft.
Thanks to the vehicle’s unique design, wheelchairs are able to enter the passenger cabin virtually at ground level. The lifting construction guarantees smooth lifting motion for the handicapped persons.
The passenger cabin is raised and lowered by means of two synchronous lifting towers located on the right- and left-hand sides. The passenger cabin is designed as a „Sandwich-Construction”. The core is made of polyurethane-foam with a smooth glass-fibre reinforced coating on both sides. Sheet metal sections are installed into the side panels in order to attach the interior fittings and two insulated windows each inserted on both sides.
Four in driving direction anchor tracks (ANCRA-system) are built into the floor as wheelchair locking devices and four pieces of load-securing belts. There are two folding seats on the side walls for an attendant.
The front platform has a hydraulic transverse movement of approx. 650 mm, which is available only above the driver’s cabin. The hydraulic extension of the tongue is approx. 600 mm.
The FFG-Ambulance-Lifting-Vehicle is driven by a standard FIAT chassis, type: FIAT-DUCATO-Maxi 2,8 JTD with automatic transmission.
