Plasma Cleaner

ISS have launched a plasma cleaner suitable for cleaning contamination from TEM sample holders and samples. Based on a standard Gala instruments PP5 Barrel Plamsa Asher, this system is adapted to take a specific TEM sample holder, either through the front-loading door or at the rear side to quickly clean the holder and sample. The door-loading holder is designed for quick and simple cleaning of holders and samples, the rear side port provides a lower power clean and is used mainly for crystallographic TEM analysis where sample damage needs to be prevented. The main application for this product is in materials applications in TEM and offers a cost effective solution over dedicated ion cleaners. Plus, there is the advantage of using the barrel Asher as a routine ashing tool.
