Additional Smart Card Security

Idesco introduces the new Access 8 CM Mifarer sector reader, which is ideal for example in access control and in situations where the same smart card could be used in many applications. An additional security key is used with this reader which makes the data transfer between the reader and transponders very safe and reliable. Idesco's new Access 8 CM Mifarer sector reader reads application specific data from a selected sector of all Mifarer standard cards. Multi-application cards can also be used with this reader unit.

The reader accepts any bit lengths. Timing of the data, interface and default sector can be defined by using a configuration card. This offers superior flexibility and makes the reader compatible with almost any system. The card sectors the reader can access are protected by an additional security key which is defined separately between
the reader and the card.

The application data can only be read with Idesco Access 8 CM reader and with a correct security key. By using an encoder reader and the encoder software customers can implement their own applications and define security keys also themselves. The reader is available in many colours and also with hand-made wooden housings.
