Machine Vision Products, Inc. automated optical inspection systems were recently added to Rubroeder’s line of products. MVP's systems are designed for inline or offline paste, pre-solder, and post-solder inspections and are capable of providing comprehensive defect coverage. MVP's performance driven, flexible and innovative vision products help electronics manufacturers achieve higher yields, lower production costs, and improve product quality. Unlike other AOI systems using multiple cameras, MVP systems use a single camera on-the-fly technology that provides very fast inspections. MVP’s AOI systems are used worldwide in over 25 countries.
The Supra M is designed for inline or offline use and can handle PCBs up to 450x450mm, utilizing a color 1.4 megapixel high-performance camera. The Ultra III is MVP's high-end system that offers the highest throughput and most flexible set of features. It is configured with a 4 megapixel color camera which is able to acquire a stunning 56 megapixels per second, which translates into an inspection speed of up to 90 cm2 per second. It can handle PCBs of up to 500x546mm. Both systems are able to inspect 01005 components and can be configured with a 3D capability, allowing for paste volume inspections. All systems are additionally available with Tri-Color lighting for complex inspection solutions.
The programming is done with the latest generation of MVP’s iPro software, which differentiates itself from other AOI providers by its intuitive and simple operation. Programming is done on-line or off-line via an intuitive interface that minimizes time for training. The component library can be modified to add non-typical component types. Component markings can also be verified using OCR or OCV algorithms. All MVP products use the same software, which makes programs 100% compatible across all MVP systems. Each AutoInspector is equipped with the AutoGraph SPC package. As an option, users can take advantage of the DPC software, which allows for dynamic process control (DPC) by subdividing process events into multiple steps and evaluating the data accordingly. As soon as the system realizes a problem, warnings are given and appropriate correction measures are suggested to the line operator.
The GEM Compact Tabletop is MVP's desktop AOI system, which functions similar to inline systems but has a lower price-to-performance ratio. It is an ideal system for AOI novices and smaller companies.
