Introducing a new imaging family: cell

Olympus has launched the new cell* family range of imaging systems. A unified collection of cell systems and powerful software tools that provides a fully flexible and modular family of imaging products. Comprising seven members (cell^A, B, D, F, P, M, and R), it ranges from simple image acquisition and documentation systems through to complete solutions for live cell imaging. Each member is made up entirely of cameras, microscopes and illumination systems from Olympus, controlled by advanced Windows-based software for easy usability and ensuring all parts work as one system.
The cell* family is a comprehensive series of high powered and mutually compatable imaging products, combining excellent performance with user friendly operation. Due to their modular set up, all cell* family members are fully upgradeable and able to grow with evolving research requirements, so users do not have to get used to new interfaces as their needs develop.
At the foundation of the cell* family are cell^A and cell^B – good value entry level imaging systems for image acquisition, reporting and archiving. cell^ D offers more advanced functions, allowing rapid image acquisition, direct web transfer, numerous processing operations and interactive measurements. cell^ F is designed as a standard level system for fluoresent applications and cell^ P for advanced automated capture and analysis of multi-fluorescent images, time lapse photography and 3-D composites.
At the top end of the spectrum are the revolutionary cell^ M and cell^ R. These are sophisticated fluorescence systems for live cell microscopy. Both offer specialised all-in-one Illumination System's, composed of highly sensitive digital cameras for multi colour fluorescence time lapse acquisition. In addition, their imaging software package features the intuitive Experiment Manager - a user friendly graphical interface enabling easy set up and execution of even the most complex experiments, with minimal training.
The revolutionary cell^ R also boasts real time capability and has a hyperprecision control board, allowing the synchronisation of all hardware and peripheral devices but functioning independently of the imaging computer. This enables precise synchronisation of sample illumination and image acquisition, minimising phototoxicity and bleaching.
