Conformational analysis of proteins by FT-IR spectroscopy

Bruker Optics offers a dedicated FT-IR system for protein analytics. The CONFOCHECK system introduces a new analysis concept to researchers in Proteomics based on FT-IR spectroscopy, which is capable of providing information on protein structure of almost every protein in almost any sampling environment. Using this system even smallest structural changes in proteins are detectable. Multivariate calibration is used for automated secondary structure determination alpha-helix, ß-sheet) accomplished by using an internal protein spectra library.

Structural changes due to protein ligand binding or changes in the chemical or the physical environment are detected with high sensitivity. The integrated temperature control allows to study automated temperature induced unfolding/refolding processes over a broad temperature range (0-95 °C). For the study of membrane proteins a dedicated ATR cell is included.
