Fast 16 Bit Electronics for Detector Array Spectrometers
A new version of tec5 electronics allow acquisition of more than 1000 spectra a second with 16 bit dynamic range.
For NMOS photodiode arrays and spectrometer modules based thereon (e.g. Zeiss MCS) a readout clock rate of 1.1 Mpixel /s has been realized. Especially useful is the fast readout in conjunction with CCD spectrometers due to the high sensitivity of these chips. The Hamamatsu CCD sensors of type S-703x or Zeiss MCS CCD can be operated at 500kHz by using the tec5 CCD preamplifier and the new tec5 FEE converter boards. E.g. a 1044x64 chip can be readout within approx. 3ms. The data transfer is performed by a PCI or a USB 2.0 interface from tec5.
The operating electronics are supported by software drivers as well as function libraries un-der Windows 2000, NT und XP. For code writing a Programmer Interface for C, C++, Visual Basic, und Delphi as well as for LabVIEW is available.
