Enhancing value-added with CoMo Net®

The quality of many production processes can be significantly enhanced by measuring and evaluating different process variables such as strain, pressure or force as functions of the displacement. However, it is often impossible to run subsequent nondestructive tests on components that are already fitted, making in-process testing more or less essential. Now Kistler is offering enhanced process evaluation functions (hysteresis, gradient, integral and key statistics) in the CoMo Net type 5863A…, the successor to the tried-and-tested CoMo II devices. The controls for setting parameters and visualizing measurement results have been completely redesigned.

Designed for DIN rail mounting, CoMo Net is easy to connect to an SPC via digital I/Os. The option to connect charge, voltage and strain gauge sensors directly shows just how flexible this device is.

Setting parameters and visualization are both done entirely on a standard Web browser on a PC or Web terminal via an Ethernet connection. The device is easy to operate with the touchscreen or a mouse. Multiple channel applications can be easily networked by issuing different device IP addresses. Setting up and visualization can both be done from any network PC or Web terminal.

Different software services for firmware updates and XML format process data export along with a crossover Ethernet cable are all included in the price. The Como Net can be incorporated in the Profibus DP with the EM-1 expansion module.
