The lightning and overvoltage specialist Dehn und Söhne offers a pipe clamp for Ex areas that can be installed in potentially explosive factories without great effort. It is capable of conducting away a strike current of up to 50kA without sparks in potentially explosive atmospheres in Ex zones 1 and 2 as well as 21 and 22. To meet these stringent requirements, lightning current tests were successfully carried out in an explosive atmosphere by an independent test institute. The Company has ­provided evidence for the first time of spark-free operation of a pipe clamp under lightning conditions. An ATEX certification is not necessary.
