The Knürr/Sun Microsystems cooperation has produced ARCOS, a new and innovative TFT console that significantly helps simplify server-based computing processes. Administration with ARCOS reduces IT costs, and provides both increased data security and more flexibility at the same time. With integrated SunRay technology and the SunRay server software, the 19’’ rack console provides secure access to Unix, Linux, Java, Windows, Solaris, AS/400 and mainframes. A serial SunRay (Sub-D9) and Ethernet interface is provided. With its bypass function the TFT console isn’t just designed for the SunRay environment – it is also ideal for existing conventional KVM structures (DVI/USB).
ARCOS even has a “hot desking” function! This allows the user to stop a session on one device and start it again with another terminal device – via LAN, smartcard and a password. The TFT console is delivered with 19’’ telescopic slides, 17’’ LCD monitor, VGA/DVI adapter and a keyboard that can be configured in 13 languages. User and maintenance friendliness and reduced costs and work mean that the thin client is especially suitable for complex IT infrastructures. The recently developed ARCOS solution as an application server also serves as a multi-talent for efficient and modern server management.
