Multi-sensor camera with up to four freely positionable sensors

At the VISION 2008 trade fair, VRmagic will present a FPGA camera with up to four pixel-synchronous sensors. The CMOS sensors with global shutter are connected to the camera by an LVDS data cable and can be freely positioned. The image data is coordinated on a FPGA module with at least 256 MB RAM. The multi-sensor camera can produce pixel-synchronous images from several positions, as required for 3D reconstruction, for example. Light-section-, Gray-code- and phase shift processes can even be applied to moving objects when using the multi-sensor camera.

The German manufacturer will therefore further extend its existing range of over seventy components for industrial image processing. The German-made components are characterized by user-friendly functions, such as the possibility of saving user configurations on the camera, access to the raw sensor data, as well as continuous adjustment of all sensor parameters. All frame grabbers and cameras from VRmagic are supported by the same API, so that it is possible to change to other components without any additional programming.
