WLAN System BAT54-Rail from Hirschmann

Hirschmann Automation and Control, Neckartenzlingen/ Germany, is presenting two new antennae for the WLAN system BAT54-Rail with the BAT-ANT-N-6ABG and the BAT-ANT-N-14G. Both antennae will be connected by N-plugs and delivered with an appropriate cable and an RP-SMA adapter as well as fastening material for mast and wall mounting. Ten antennae, all designed for different application conditions, are now available for the WLAN system altogether.

Both mobile devices and switch cabinets which are to communicate with each other via WLAN in a production environment can be equipped with the hemispherical antenna BAT-ANT-N-6ABG. These antennae which support both the 2.4 and the 5 GHz band achieve a gain of 6 and 8 dBi respectively. It can also be used in extremely damp and inhospitable environments thanks to a IP67-compatible sealing ring.
The BAT-ANT-N-14G is a directional radio antenna for use outdoors which covers the frequency range from 2300 to 2500 MHz. The opening angle is 30 degrees and the antenna gain 14 dBi. This allows radio connections to be set up in the 2.4 GHz band over distances of up to 5 km.
The WLAN system BAT54-Rail, which can be used as Access Point and Access Client supports all common operating modes such as Bridge, Point-to-Multipoint or Infrastructure. Other features include extensive management, security and quality of service functions. Its robust design make this system suitable for use in production areas as well as under harsh ambient conditions such as in wind power stations or road tunnels.
