Smart access… Smart security. SmartLane®

After having invented and marketed PNG automatic gates in the late Eighties, today Automatic Systems launches SmartLane®: its new range of security gates with a daring concept and innovative design.

Our era is one of comfort and convenience, but also security. In business premises, embassies, banks, commercial buildings, the personnel responsible for security are confronted each day with a terrible dilemma: how to make sure that employees, deliveries or anyone entering and leaving the buildings are not obstructed in their work but are still identified and authorized to enter.

Automatic Systems has been addressing this problem for nearly 40 years. Today, the company has resolutely entered the 21st century with new access control equipment.

It is not by chance that Automatic Systems decided to christen its new concept with the name Smart, taken from the English, pretty and intelligent. SmartLane® is indeed both at the same time.

During the product development studies, Automatic Systems placed the emphasis firmly on aesthetics. The subtle marriage between materials (glass/wood, stainless steel/marble…) that are used today for finishing the SmartLane® confers upon it this new harmony and turns it into a piece of futuristic furniture. “Its airy style, its rounded forms, and its compact furniture give users the comfort they demand. It also allows easy integration into any type of architecture, whether contemporary or traditional.” confides the product manager, Dimitri Lemoine.

Far from being solely beautiful, SmartLane® is also intelligent and functional. All the functionalities of the old gates have been retained or improved.

Modular equipment is it. SmartLane® offers several configurations of control and management for the passage, associating the security of the site with the protection of users according to the priorities of each. A wide choice of options in the level of aesthetics, of security, in the integration of readers or detector cells, and in the protection of users makes it possible to exactly address the specific needs and taste of the most demanding customers.

SmartLane® is available in two passage widths. Narrow or wide lanes can be combined in banks, the wide lanes giving access to people with reduced mobility. The evolutionary SmartLane® detection system has several levels of security: deterrent control with anti-fraud in both directions.

SmartLane® is secure and safe. The mechanical locking of the barriers in the closed position prevents any attempt at manual opening. The 12mm-thick tempered glass barriers are available in a range of heights from 1000 to 1900mm. The speed of movement of the barriers is flexible for an ideal adaptation to the flow of people. The opening/closing times are adjustable between 0.7 and 1.3 seconds. There is no question of users feeling imprisoned or being injured. Its system of interlocked siding barrier shutters is a proven protection against fingers being caught. An autonomous mechanical system automatically opens the barriers in the event of an emergency.

Automatic Systems has added new control software and centralized management, which facilitate the configuration of the various modes of detection. Configuration is via a friendly interface with drop-down menus. Absolute position encoders ensure management of the barriers in real time and guarantee perfect control of their movement.

To control, to combat fraud and to ensure the protection of people, while respecting the architecture and the aesthetics of the environment that accommodate them are the principal missions of SmartLane®. It is certainly the worthy successor to the famous PNG 380 and PNG 390 series automatic gates that made the international reputation of Automatic Systems.
