Xemo

With its range of "Xemo" products, Systec GmbH from Münster, Germany, offers a pallet of high-performance, flexible controllers. Xemo-controllers unify the capabilities of axis controllers and programmable-logic controllers (PLC). Xemo M is the controller module for drive and positioning systems. Systec itself uses it in its "DriveSet" run-ready, positioning systems. Up to four axes can be interpolated with the controller "Xemo M" in the 3D mode and can also be individually activated. The Xemo M’s great strength lies in the fact that it can be integrated via the CAN-bus interface as a subsystem into an existing controller environment, but can also be used as an autonomous controller.

Xemo R and Xemo S are the compact controllers from the Systec house. At the time of delivery, they are mounted in a switch cabinet or provided as a 19-inch compatible table-top housing. The power elements of the compact controller provide full control over stepping motors. The Xemo-P drive packages are the right choice when powerful motor performance must be steered along regulated trajectories. Xemo-P packages are highly unitized.

Xemo Lab is the OEM-version of the controller products and can be expanded with numerous components which are not provided for in other Xemo-models. Basically, it consists only of a controller circuit board which is integrated into a device. Systec even offers the service of adapting such circuit boards to the customer’s own casing structure.

Programming Xemo is done with the open source language "MotionBasic" - conveniently at your own PC and then uploaded into the controller. This is accomplished by the IDE (Integrated Development Environment) included in the delivery. The program "Xemo!Go" allows the user to run axes and configure outputs with a click of the mouse for test purposes and/or when putting the controller into service as well.

The Windows-DLL included in the package makes allows programming in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), Visual Basic, Visual C, Borland and many other languages. A VI (Virtual Instrument) for LabVIEW is also included. The Xemo Operating System has an integrated HPGL-Implementation. With a Software that comes with a HPGL driver one can design contours graphically and send them to the control unit.
