The VT-Infinity 2D array scanner heralds a new generation of high speed multi-point confocal systems targeted at the study of dynamic processes in living cells. The VT-Infinity offers high speed image capture without compromising confocality (e.g. swept field scanning) and eliminates the field to field variations inherent in Nipkow disc based scanning. Live cell experiments particularly benefit from the low photobleaching characteristics of the VT-Infinity.
Application areas
The VT-Infinity produces high resolution images that are essential in the study of protein kinetics, gene expression and vesicular/membrane trafficking.
Fast synchronised image scanning coupled with sensitive cameras provides the capability of capturing fast dynamic events in living cells, for example, calcium sparks and waves in neuronal and cardiac cells. Real-time confocal imaging enables the observation and recording of in vivo blood circulation and the rapid collection of z-stack data for 3D reconstruction.
