What is Ultrasonic Advantage?
Scientists consider the most common problem leading to ELISA assay failure, system downtime, and increased cost, to be poor microplate washer maintenance. Unexpected clogging of the washer manifold tubes is the single largest contributor. Cleaning is a time consuming and labor intensive process. The solution Bio-Teks revolutionary, patent pending Ultrasonic Advantage makes the new ELx405 the only self-maintaining microplate washer available today, eliminating washer-associated failure and guaranteeing continued washer performance. The new ELx405 incorporates a built-in ultrasonic cleaner to aid in routine washer maintenance.
At the touch of a button, the ELx405 with Ultrasonic Advantage can be programmed to provide a custom cleaning protocol based on instrument usage and wash buffer type. The ELx405 will automatically prime itself with cleaning fluid, cycle the ultrasonic cleaning process, and flush and prime the manifold with a rinse fluid or buffer in preparation for the customers next microplate wash cycle.
Ultrasonic Technology
Ultrasonic cleaning involves the rapid formation and violent collapse of minute vacuum bubbles that implode on surface contact. This agitation by countless small and intense imploding bubbles creates a highly effective scrubbing of both the inside and outside of the washer manifold tubes. Cavitation, as this process is called, is produced by the ELx405s introduction of high-frequency, high-intensity sound waves into a liquid-filled, built-in cleaning reservoir in which the washers manifold tubes are fully submerged. Equipped with Ultrasonic Advantage, Bio-Teks ELx405 automatically pulses the ultrasonic energy for optimal cleaning of common manifold tube buildup such as protein and salt crystals.
For years, ultrasonic technology has provided unmatched cleaning power in many applications and industries. Merging this proven technology with the worlds premier microplate washer, Bio-Teks ELx405 with Ultrasonic Advantage provides complete confidence in assay performance.
