Safexpert 4.2: texts of standards for "old" EN 292 and new EN ISO 12100 in a single package

Safexpert 4.2 CE-software offers maximum security in the risk analysis and conformity assessment of machines and plants during the transition period from EN 292 to the new EN ISO 12100. Depending on the type and length of a project, users themselves can decide whether they want to carry out the integral safety assessments in compliance with EN 292 or with EN ISO 12100. Thus Safexpert guarantees CE-certification according to the currently valid safety standards.

The standards EN 292-1 and EN 292-2, important for "Machine Safety" were withdrawn in April 2004. They are replaced by EN ISO 12100, whose publication in the official journal of the European Union has not yet taken place but is expected. Until then, Safexpert 4.2 offers users the opportunity to either continue with the EN 292 standard or start work with the new EN ISO 12100, both of which are integrated as full text in a .PDF format in Safexpert 4.2. When EN ISO 12100 is published, the safety software will then provide all the relevant content – hazard lists, checklists, cross-references or access to the full-text standards – to meet the new standard, and thus legal, situation. The "old" standards will still be available for comparative purposes. This Safexpert 4.2 flexibility ensures that the hazard analysis and conformity assessment is always carried out on the basis of the current regulatory standards.

The Check and Acceptance Assistant simplifies quality assurance and final acceptance

The Check and Acceptance Assistant (CAA) is another further development implemented in Safexpert 4.2. The CAA is a new software module that allows uniform, comprehensible testing and acceptance of machines and plants. Their producers and purchasers can easily adapt, expand and optimise the checklists offered by the program to meet their specific requirements.
On delivery and installation of a machine or plant, the structured checklists, agreed in advance between the buyer and the producer, accelerate commissioning and prevent disagreements or unresolved issues.

Safexpert 4.2 – systematically achieving the CE-label

Safexpert 4.2 is a networkable software program for integral safety assessments of machines and plants. The software guides the user systematically and efficiently to the CE-label, in compliance with the standards, regardless of whether they are CE-specialists or novices. They are led through the conformity process in seven steps. The program assists in the analysis of hazards and in the consideration of risk. Stored reports and checklists support the creation of technical documentation in line with the Machine Directive. The data is automatically entered into the report during the processing of the project. This also allows the creation of operating instructions for the particular machine parallel to CE-certification without any major additional effort. In addition, there are copy and library functions that also reduce the amount of work required for the CE-label. Solutions that have already been worked out in hazard analyses or entire projects can be re-used at the click of a mouse. Users confirm time savings after just two projects. Comfortable search and filter functions for standards and directives are integrated in the program. The information can be quickly found by means of the full-text search through the standards, and selection possibilities in the database of titles. Safexpert has proven itself in industry and is used by well-known organisations such as the Trade Associations, the TÜV and Dekra.
