L-shaped through-beam sensor with laser light for very small parts detection

A new L-shaped through-beam sensor has been added to the Balluff range of photoelectric sensors for various applications. The L-shaped through-beam sensor is available in a laser version for extremely small parts detection or with red light for standard detection – with the option of normally open or normally closed output function.

This product represents an elegant solution to a variety of practical problems and is available with angle slot lengths from 22mm to 62mm allowing for maximum versatility. A potentiometer is provided for tuning the sensitivity.

The self-contained BWL houses an intense infrared emitter in a rugged, zinc-plated steel housing that can resist multiple impacts without loss of function. Its high power IR light beam will cut through heavily contaminated air with ample reserve capacity, and its configuration promotes easy installation in a wide variety of applications.

One-piece "plug and play" BWL sensors feature pre-aligned optics to allow fast, accurate installation without the need for special brackets or complex beam alignment procedures. BWL's are always in alignment, so they are easy to install; plus, they are accurate over the entire length of the beam, which means they can detect minute deviations over the entire area of a product being manufactured. The properties of the new BWL sensors make them an ideal addition to Balluff's family of slot sensors.
