New radar sensor for solids VEGAPULS 68
VEGA Grieshaber KG is proud to introduce its latest innovation in radar technology, designed specifically for the solids industry the VEGAPULS 68. Once again, VEGA sets the standard for level measurement using the radar technique.
Throughout the development stage, particular emphasis was placed on the sensitivity of the sensor, as reflection capabilities of solids are far worse than that of liquids. New microwave components now enable the sensor to evaluate reflection signals, which are smaller by a factor of 100 compared to other radar sensors. This offers sufficient reserves to deal with even the most challenging application.
The antenna system of the sensor was also tailored towards the solids industry. New, adjustable horn antennas enable the possibility to position the sensor at an optimum angle in relation to the material cone and hence minimise false reflections.
Integration of the sensor into the plics sensor concept by VEGA, means the housing options of plastic, aluminium or stainless steel. Likewise, electronic options of 4 ⦠20mA in two and four wire technology, Fieldbus versions in Profibus PA and Foundation Fieldbus are available.
