The MPEG-2 video encoder is designed for the highest video quality over IP Ethernet networks. It supports multi-stream video at different frame rates for simultaneous monitoring, recording, intelligent scene analysis, etc. The video streams are supported by all C-series video decoders and Optelecom-NKF's Intelligent Networked Video Recorder (i-NVR). The number of video channels inserted or dropped at a node can be increased by addition of extra video encoders or decoders. “The CS-20 offers an extremely compact and versatile IP-networking solution to our customers,” says Peter de Konink, Product Manager Optelecom-NKF.
To migrate analogue CCTV services to IP, the CS-20 combines Fast Ethernet switching with DVD quality video encoding, bidirectional CD-quality stereo audio, two serial data channels (RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485) and two dry contacts. The Fast Ethernet switch supports Rapid Spanning Tree and advanced IGMP to secure reliable transport of video, audio and data streams. It features four independent 10/100Base-TX ports and two pluggable 100Base-FX uplink ports, allowing redundant connections in multimode and single-mode fiber networks.
The CS-20 encoder/switch is designed and tested to operate under industrial conditions, characterized by a wide temperature range and mechanical stress. Configuration and management are made easy, using in-band management.
