Basler is launching a new model in the successful scout series - the scA1600-28 model that delivers 28 frames per second (fps) at 2 megapixel resolution. This model is a faster version of the well-established scA1600, which delivers 14 fps. The scA1600-28 doubles that frame rate to 28 fps while maintaining the same excellent image quality as the older version. Other camera characteristics such as the noise level, DSNU, and PRNU are kept at the same low levels typical of Basler cameras. The scout scA1600-28 features the Sony ICX274 CCD sensor and will be released with both GigE and IEEE1394b interfaces. It will also be available in a 90 degree housing version.
Both the monochrome and the color models are now being prepared for series production, and they can be ordered for evaluation and for standard delivery. The models available include:
The combination of a 2 megapixel sensor, a wide range of features, and excellent image quality at 28 fps makes this camera extremely attractive for a variety of markets such as medical imaging, surveillance, and ITS.
