Enhancing Microplate Sample Preparation

Porvair Sciences has chosen the forthcoming Pittcon 2009 meeting in Chicago to unveil several new innovative microplate products. Visitors will see the international launch of the 24-well Minivap sample concentrator and the Biovyon range of sample preparation and separation microplates. For laboratories looking to remove the traditional drug discovery bottleneck of solvent evaporation in 24-well microplates prior to analysis or reconstitution in buffer the Companys new 24-well Minivap sample concentrator will be of particular interest. The new range of Protein A, C8 and C18 96-well microplates eliminate channeling effects found with traditional protein and SPE separation products. The Universal Robotic Manifold enables productive automation of SPE or DNA clean-up procedures. Also in the exhibition will be the Miniseal, an entry-level semi-automated thermal sealer developed for laboratories sealing small to medium batches of microplates, and the Triseal High Throughput Sealing Station, running with an automated stacker/loader.
