Powerlink Safety

Powerlink Safety is the first open security-orientated, protocol with real-time capability for machinery and production automation. It is suitable for communication cycles in the microsecond range and has been approved by the TÜV Rheinland for use in security-critical applications as per IEC 61508 SIL3 and Category 4 of Euronorm 954-1.
As the special recognition and coding mechanisms register or exclude all conceivable data transfer errors, the security protocol, which is independent from the transport protocol, can also be used in unsecured networks. In addition, the product supports high availability networks with master redundancy, whereby it ensures the highest level of security in safety-critical applications e.g. in power stations.
