Additional fieldbus support and optimized performance in CoDeSys V3.2
Kempten / Germany, March 2008: With the release of CoDeSys V3.2, 3S-Smart Software Solutions offers additional fieldbus support as well as an optimized performance.
Many thousands of automation devices worldwide are programmed with CoDeSys by 3S-Smart Software Solutions which is therefore the leading manufacturer independent IEC 61131-3 programming system. CoDeSys Version 3 brings about number of important innovations such as object-oriented PLC programming. The tool being conceived as a real Automation Platform, hardware manufacturers can easily add new features at their own discretion.
Version 3.2 extends the scope of functionality, e.g. by allowing a direct configuration of Modbus and Ethernet IP within the programming system. While the Modbus configurator uses its own CoDeSys libraries for the protocol the Ethernet IP configurator presently uses the netX chip by Hilscher. If you add the configurators for EtherCAT, ProfiNet, Sercos III, CANopen and Profibus which have already been available before, CoDeSys 3.2 offers a comprehensive fieldbus support.
In addition to extended functionality, CoDeSys V3.2 allows users to work even more comfortably: Editors, configurators, engines and compilers were optimized so that performance could be improved considerably by some 30%. Another new 3.2 feature i the French language option which is now offered besides German and English. In the course of this year, Italian, Spanish, Chinese and Russian language options will follow.
