With the launch of the new DT9872 model Data Translation presents the latest addition to the TEMPpoint temperature measurement series. The new version comes ready-to-run including software. It allows direct connection of up to 48 four-wire resistance temperature sensors (RTDs) and is easy to connect to the PC via USB.
Designed for harsh industrial environments, the rugged desktop unit offers maximum accuracy and signal integrity. One dedicated 24-bit A/D converter per channel ensure high-precision measurements without the need for multiplexers or amplifiers. Measurement errors are virtually eliminated with Kelvin sensing. In addition 1000V channel-to-channel isolation provides reliable protection. Every time the instrument is powered on, Gain and Offset are calibrated automatically. Screw terminals allow quick and easy connection of all standard 2-, 3- and 4-wire RTD sensors (Platinum Pt100, Pt500, Pt1000) as well as voltages. The DT9872 achieves sampling rates up to 7.5 Hz per channel and supports a temperature measurement range from –200 °C to +850 °C. Eight opto-isolated digital inputs and eight opto-isolated digital outputs are provided, e.g. for driving relays directly.
The temperature measurement solution is complemented by a software application for viewing, graphing, logging and analyzing the up to 48 signals. Besides limit checking, external processes can be monitored and controlled. The data can also be easily exported to other applications, such as Excel or MATLAB. Using the Measure Foundry test and measurement software, users can even modify and customize the program to suit their needs.
