Newport Corporation's Spectra-Physics Lasers Division today introduced the state-of-the-art Vanguard 2.5W Quasi-CW diode-pumped solid state (DPSS) laser. With exceptionally reliable 355 nm ultraviolet output in even the most demanding environments, it is an ideal solution for photovoltaic processing, laser direct imaging, micromachining, and flow cytometry. The laser was designed to provide outstanding beam performance and power stability in a rugged industrial platform. It uses cutting edge mode-locking technology to deliver 2.5W of quasi-CW UV output at 355 nm with excellent TEM00 mode quality (M2< 1.2). Hands-off, motorized control of the THG crystal and SESAM increases ease of use, and extends operational time. In order to ensure the highest levels of performance and reliability, all key elements SESAM, optical substrates, coatings, power supply and fiber-coupled diodes are designed and manufactured by Newport Spectra-Physics.
