High Throughput Dispensing

Thermo Electron Corporation announced the latest combined offering from its automation and microplate instrumentation products. The RapidStak microplate stacker is now available with the Multidrop Micro low volume reagent dispenser. This combination is a solution for scientists who spend precious time on plate filling and who need to refocus their time on other important procedures. The patented intuitive design allows it to deliver and stack plates simultaneously. This parallel processing yields a load/unload time of less than six seconds, with a maximum throughput of 300 plates per hour. This is now allied to Multidrop Micro's ability to rapidly and precisely dispense micro volumes of bulk reagents over a range of 1–50 µl into 96- and 384-well plates with CV typically less than 5% at 2 µl.
