Better Separation of Polar Compounds

Merck Chemicals showcased new chromatography products. When it comes to analyzing polar and hydrophilic compounds, reversed-phase chromatography has severe limitations because these compounds often have little or no retention on reversed-phase columns. Using the innovative ZIC HILIC technology developed by SeQuant, a unique zwitterionic HILIC (hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography) separation technique, all types of polar and hydrophilic compounds can be separated, from small peptides to ions, from complex carbohydrates to metabolites.
