Safe fire management and smoke extraction with HIMatrix F3 DIO 16/8 01

The new I/O module HIMatrix F3 DIO 16/8 01 (SIL 3) by HIMA Paul Hildebrandt GmbH + Co KG, Germany controls up to four smoke extraction valves and up to eight fire and smoke dampers. It provides the power supply and line monitoring of the drive motors and limit switches as well as the runtime monitoring and monitoring of the current consumption.

 

HIMatrix provides open data transmission between building automation systems, fire alarm systems and other third party systems on the basis of open standard protocols.

 

HIMatrix F3 DIO 16/8 01 is networked safely with any number of controllers and I/O modules via safeethernet (SIL 3). This results in an expandable network in failure tolerant and highly available ring architecture. Numerous safety-relevant technologies, e.g. fire and smoke detection, fire protection doors, pressure ventilation of evacuation staircases, evacuation management, gas warning systems or fire fighting can be networked, integrated and managed with the new I/O module.

 

The benefits of the HIMatrix safety controller technology are highest reliability and operational safety, flexible planning and expandability and the possibility of safe data transmission via safeethernet allowing for remote maintenance via telephone, leased line or ISDN.

The HIMatrix safety controllers are TÜV certified in accordance with DIN EN 61508 up to SIL 3. The requirements of VDMA 24200-1, (pr) EN 12101, IEC 61131-2 are met. The HIMatrix safety controllers are also suitable for smoke and flame detection in accordance with EN 54-2 and NFPA 72, and for gas detection in accordance with ATEX RL 94/9/EC. The fire safety of the data line is tested for fire retardence for 30 minutes in line with DIN 4102, part 12.
