The R&S ZVA24 is the high-end model of the vector network analyzer family from Rohde & Schwarz. This new family includes models with two to eight test ports for the frequency range up to 24 GHz. Offering excellent characteristics in terms of dynamic range, IF bandwidth, output level, level sweep range, number of channels and number of test points, the R&S ZVA24 is clearly the winner in its class compared with all other products available on the market. Its versatile measurement capabilities and high flexibility make it an ideal choice for balanced measurements as well as complex measurements on frequency-converting active components such as amplifiers, mixers or frequency converters for mobile radio, WLAN, SAT or other RF applications.
Due to its large bandwidth and exceptionally fast synthesizers, the R&S ZVA24 has extremely short measurement times without any compromise to accuracy. The instrument can thus capture even rapidly changing signals with high accuracy. This is crucial, for example, in determining the settling times of control circuits, or in antenna measurements. The R&S ZVA24 four-port model has a second integrated generator. This allows a variety of measurements to be performed without requiring external devices such as generators, filters or preamplifiers.
The R&S ZVA24 offers ample functionality even in its basic version, which can be expanded with a variety of options, e.g. direct generator and receiver access, time domain, step attenuators for the generators and receivers, measurements on frequency-converting DUTs, automatic calibration unit.
Like the other members of the new network analyzer family, the R&S ZVA24 features a straightforward, intuitive operating concept. Even untrained users can thus perform sophisticated measurements quickly and generate comprehensive documentation. The analyzer can be operated via context-sensitive pull-down menus using the mouse as well as via hardkeys and softkeys. The Undo button enables you to cancel several preceding operating steps and easily correct erroneous entries. Convenient wizards explain all important operating steps by displaying them as graphics, and provide all the basic settings. This is rounded out by comprehensive online help including numerous detailed examples.
Various instrument setups can be stored on the integrated hard disk and recalled by pressing a button or using the mouse or a control command. For each trace, up to 20,001 points can be measured and evaluated by means of convenient marker and analysis functions. Other highlights of the R&S ZVA24 include flexible display options, versatile mathematical functions, an embedding/deembedding function using virtual networks for impedance matching, as well as comprehensive automatic calibration functions.
The R&S ZVA24 comes with an IEC/IEEE interface, four USB and two LAN interfaces. A TTL interface for synchronizing the analyzer with external devices and controlling a handler is also provided. The R&S ZVA24 is now available from Rohde & Schwarz.
