A special feature of the GEMÜ 660 is its specially designed actuator to meet the requirements of the fluid filling technology. The opening stroke of the valve can be finitely adjusted easily by hand over a scale with 10 scale points (0.1 mm each) per turn the stroke adjuster can be fixed to protect the finite adjustment.
The pneumatic actuator with its low control air volume is designed for fast and high cycle duties. The control pressure required is 4 to 7 bar depending on the version and the optional multi-direction connector system enables a variable control air connection. The control air connectors of the standard version align with the flow direction. Normally open, Normally closed or Double acting control functions can be selected. Compressed air serves as the control medium but inert gases such as nitrogen or carbonic acid can be used as well. Electrical position indicators can be mounted as an option.
The entire GEMÜ 660 valve including the spindle and closing spring is made of high grade stainless steel and suitable for dosing inert or corrosive liquids as well as gaseous media. The proven diaphragm valve principle serves as the basis for this dosing valve where the working medium only contacts the surface of the diaphragm and the interior surface of the valve body all mechanical parts are outside the medium wetted area. In addition the working medium is gently conducted through the body and good cleanability/sterilizability is ensured. The valve has CIP/SIP capabilities. Various elastomers and fluoroplastic materials can be chosen for the diaphragm. All common approvals and declarations of conformity are available. The valve can be supplied in nominal sizes ranging from DN 10 to DN 25 and can be sterilized cyclically up to 150°C depending on the diaphragm material. The standard version has an investment cast or forged stainless steel 2/2 way body which is available with all standard butt weld spigots, clamps and threaded connections.
The actuator can also be mounted as a component on multi-port valve blocks produced for specific applications. Mounting position and flow direction are optional. The development of the GEMÜ 660 filling valve represents a perfect symbiosis of modern performance features, variable user requirements and experience gained in 40 years of valve construction.
