The CT 823 connector system is specially designed to take away a lot of disadvantages the 50 year old design of L-823 connectors have. Although fully intermateble with the standard L-823 connector as well as fully complying to the mechanical and electrical requirements of the FAA AC 150/5345-26C, it is superior in many aspects.
It is mechanically strong, as the construction inside the connector as well as the outside rubber cover has an excellent mechanical pulling strength due to its clamping construction.
Easy and fast installation without special tooling and adaptation to all kinds of airfield primary cables, screened or unscreened. Fool proof installation where no potting or filling substances are required and during all kinds of weather conditions.
Open face, cable damage or mechanical stress on the interface will not cause any moist intrusion. The hard insulator and extra outside rubber slab on the closing system will guarantee a lifelong trouble free use of the connector. The mechanical stability of the system is ensured by selection of high quality materials, which are resistant against water absorption as well as all kinds of de-icing fluids and aircraft fuels and lubricants.
It is also environmentally friendly. All CT 823 connectors are made of materials which can be recycled. The product is easy to separate.
The connector has been undergoing an eight months long test at Munich Airport and similar connectors are currently installed on an airforce base in the North of Holland.
The connector product is also available on transformers.
