Universitätsklinikum Jena: QUIPS Quality Management

Improvement of postoperative pain therapy by use of the quality management tool QUIPS: Results of a questionnaire on pain after surgeries completed by patients are merged with patient data like age, gender, type of surgery and medication.

After that, hospitals get an automated realtime feedback of the quality of their pain treatment – in comparison with other hospitals as well as in comparison with their own results over time (benchmarking). By filtering results, analyses can be cut down to specific patient populations.

By analyzing shortcomings and exchanging experiences with better performers, hospitals can improve their quality, assess effectiveness of changes and thus offer a more efficient and more economic patient care.
