More opportunities for smoke protection with the new Protect 550
Protect, the sole manufacturer of smoke generators in Denmark and Scandinavia, now extends its product range with Protect 550, which can completely fill a 550 m3 room with smoke in 60 seconds.
The design is based on experience gathered from more than 10,000 manufactured and installed smoke generators over a period of five years. Protect 550 has been designed to supplement the smaller 375 model and the larger 950 model that can produce 375 and 1,500 m3 smoke per minute, respectively. This makes it ideal for protecting large shops, banks or office environments depending on the layout of the room. Very irregular rooms of the above size may also be protected by one or more model 375 smoke generators. A combined solution with model 550 and model 375 also makes it possible to keep the room completely filled with smoke for a longer time.
This is possible thanks to the one shot technology of the new model 550 where the entire amount of smoke is released at once, while model 375 can be set to release small pulsating amounts of smoke so the room is completely filled with smoke for 20 minutes. Protect 550 has been optimised in every respect with new technology among other things, ensuring better quality smoke. The optimised model uses a canister instead of a bag for storing the smoke fluid. The canister can be replaced in less than 30 seconds with no risk of spills. The systems fluid indicator can be adjusted to suit the need for fluid in the given installation.
The new technology and its new circuit board and many new features have made it possible to reduce the power consumption of a heated system by more than half, making Protect 550 the smoke generator the least power consuming system on the market. The reduced power consumption also means longer standby time - up to three hours - if the mains voltage to the generator is disconnected.
Additional features include: power consumption on all inputs halved; available power from the built-in 12V supply doubled; simple display with read-out of all inputs, error messages, etc.; new circuit board construction, new mechanical structure and built-in ventilator and controlling electronics offer improved battery handling with the markets only built-in load test circuit where the condition of the batteries is tested on a daily basis (as known from burglar alarm systems).
