The range of available mvBlueFOX sensors has been expanded to include an affordable CMOS version. Like the CCD version, the CMOS mvBlueFOX features two inputs and two outputs which can be used for trigger and flash. With the help of a hardware realtime controller (RTC) the inputs may be polled and the outputs and image capture may be easily operated in realtime. This allows the RTC to implement a multitude of applications such as generation of trigger signals, synchronisation of diverse cameras, fast generation of image sequences with different flash and exposure settings etc. Other new functions to help the user of the mvBlueFOX include automatic exposure control (AEC) and automatic gain control (AGC).
The HI-SPEED USB (USB 2.0) interface, which is backwards compatible to USB 1.1, ensures correct image transfer and bus bandwidth via the USB bulk transfer method. The mvBlueFOX camera offers frequently used image preprocessing functions such as horizontal and vertical mirroring, sharpening and Bayer color conversion. Due to the special integration of these preprocessing functions the PC load remains extremely low. Further, the image capture can be accelerated by diverse binning modes or by using these modes the sensitivity of the sensors can be increased.
The mvBlueFOX features a C-mount lens with back-focus-adjustment and a CS-mount or S-mount lens as an option.
The industrial design of the mvBlueFOX with circular connector, small construction and the ability to mount the camera in all positions reinforces the adaptability of the mvBlueFOX. Furthermore, driver features such as the RTC allow detailed optimization of the application using the camera.
