With the number of cameras per project constantly rising, it is more and more important to ensure that control room staff get a visual overview and not a visual overload. What they need is a really effective video assistance solution which intelligently filters the visual information before it is presented. And this is precisely what the new GeViScope upgrade module will do when it comes on stream in early in 2007.
Geutebrück have integrated an kernel algorithm from Aimetis, one of the top analysis developers, into the GeViScope and developed an intelligent video analysis system capable of recognising particular types of scenario which might require more attention or investigation. The resulting object-based recognition system will pick out objects and behaviours, such as ‘person’, ‘car’, ‘fast’, ‘slow’, ‘wrong direction’, ‘object appearing’, ‘object disappearing’, both separately and when logically combined. This means you can set it up to trigger alerts when a person moves fast, or a car goes in the wrong direction, but to ‘ignore’ a car going fast or a person in the wrong direction. The alert generated be used to start recording from particular cameras; switch pictures of the event to another viewer station; trigger an alarm; bring PTZ- and/or dome systems into pre programmed positions; switch the GUI to a relevant map; trigger a host management system, etc, etc, whatever is required. The design is very flexible and can be adapted to any kind of scene and application.
