Thermo Electron has developed new GC/MS applications for the accurate analysis of pesticides and PCB residues using the Finnigan PolarisQ and the Finnigan Trace DSQ benchtop GC/MS mass spectrometers. Designed to rapidly and accurately detect and analyze low level analytes, these applications are particularly suited to environmental laboratories and government agencies helping them to maximize productivity and profitability. The analysis of pesticide and PCB residues presents significant analytical challenges. Considerable pressure for lower detection limits of these compounds prompts laboratories to seek methods that enable them to reproducibly attain results in the pg/µl range.
