Balluff BOS 5K Optical Sensor
This sensor is tailored for standard applications, with a compact housing making it ideal for tight mounting spaces. Less is more is the motto here. The BOS 5K includes only those features the customer really needs for his application, providing an optimal price/performance ratio.
The BOS 5K has an extremely rugged, stable plastic injection molded housing and cannot be destroyed even by over-tightening. This makes it one of the most rugged sensors in its class. Its 6-turn potentiometer enables precise switching point setting. Object and background are discriminated precisely and without regard to color.
The BOS 5K is available in cable out and connector styles, in PNP or NPN, and as normally open or normally closed. The N.O. and N.C. variants are offered as separate part numbers. Each model includes only the features the application really calls for.
The red light beam has a range of 40 - 200 mm. It detects objects regardless of color with a gray value shift of less than 10%.
