Upgrading Systems at Bahrain Airport

Early in 2004 Bahrain International Airport replaced the existing central database system and upgrades Ultra's earlier generation of FIDS for the integrated UltraDB and UltraFIDS. Running on a clustered, high availability, platform the integrated solution provides intranet web capability and an interface to the airport public web site for flight information. Information for staff and public is displayed in English and Arabic, using CRT displays, plasmas
and large flap boards.

UltraFIDS fully featured display design capability allows advertising on FIDS displays. New systems integrated into UltraDB include the existing FDMS database, docking system and fuelling system, as well as standard interfaces to the SITA network and PA system. Ultra Electronics also announced the successful installation and acceptance of its airport operational database (UltraDB) and its multi-lingual flight information and display system (UltraFIDS) at Domodedovo International Airport in Moscow.

The fully managed service contract was awarded to Ultra Electronics Airport Systems (formerly FASL) by the East Line Group. Domodedovo is the largest domestic airport in Russia and with recent investments it is rapidly building up its international routes that already include British Airways, Emirates and Swiss airlines.
