Inline Weld Seam Inspection

Vitronic Dr.-Ing. Stein Bildverarbeitungssysteme will present the benefits of a three-dimensional inline weld seam inspection and displays the machine vision system Viro. The inspection system generates and analyses up to 2,000 profiles of a weld every second. It works on the basis of laser triangulation, and over-comes the limitations of devices that require a combination of 2D and 3D sensors to achieve the necessary inspection rates. Whether it be MIG/MAG welds or laser welds on steel or aluminium, the system recognizes defects like surface porosity, weld volume, weld length, missing welds, incorrect weld length, the welds' shape, undercuts or positional errors of the weld. A reliable detection of defective welds guarantees a better production quality.
