SIRIUS Safety Integrated - Multifunctional safety relay with four sensor inputs
With the multifunctional safety combination 3TK2845, Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) is offering a new product for the protection of operators and machines. It has four sensor inputs, for example for EMERGENCY STOP, protective door monitoring, cascading and keyswitch, as well as two instantaneous safe relay and electrical outputs (Stop Cat. 0). Siemens A&D is also offering a version with two instantaneous outputs (Stop Cat. 0) as well as two outputs with a time-delay of up to 300 seconds (Stop Cat. 1).
The new product from the SIRIUS Safety Integrated range is mainly used on production islands (without networking) where an EMERGENCY STOP function and a protective function, such as light arrays or protective doors, are implemented simultaneously. Depending on the external wiring, the multifunctional device in a 45-millimeter enclosure complies with Category 4 to EN 954-1 and SIL 3 (Safety Integrity Level) to IEC 61508.
