Flammable Liquid Detector

Tokyo Gas Co. and Tech-Jam., Ltd have developed a inflammable liquid detector that is able to detect inflammable liquids contained in a plastic/glass bottles. Liquid inspection requires chemical analysis, which takes long time. So what it was done was visual and odor check. SFLD-201 does not require opening a bottle or vapor sampling. SFLD-201 detects liquid contained in a bottle without contacting it directly. The detector does not require expertise for detection. Passengers can just place the bottle into the detector. There is no need to take sample
from passengers' drinks. Furthermore, the detector does not
use special handling, x-ray or chemical substance for
detection. Finally, the detector does not require a
comprehensive oprerator training. Anyone can examine the
liquid contained in a bottle. SFLD-201 has been
experimented field test at Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and
Transport and major airplane companies in Japan and will be
released in 2004.
