The 3D Light Field technology allows you to capture 2D and 3D information with a single camera, using a single lens, in just a single snapshot using standard lighting. A light field camera contains a micro lens array that is placed directly in front of the image sensor, such that each micro lens acts like a micro camera. Combining the images of these various micro cameras allows the calculation of 3D and 2D data. The complete 2D and 3D information is stored in a single image, such that high frame rates and the use of flash lights are possible.
