The FLOWPROFI (PROduct FInder) now allows users to identify the optimum flow meter for use with gases as well – and in the usual easy way. The online tool – which can be accessed at www.flowprofi.com free of charge and without having to register – directs the user in no more than seven steps to the optimum Meister product for their particular application.
In the first step, the medium used and the flow to be measured are entered in FLOWPROFI. This basic information is generally necessary for the layout of a flow meter, but what is new is that a wide range of gases can now be selected from a list. FLOWPROFI then automatically uses the standard density of the selected gas as a basis for the remaining calculations. Meister is continually expanding the list of available gases, but if the required gas is not included in the list, users can enter the standard density of their process gas themselves.
After selecting the medium, users enter the required flow range and at the same time specify whether the specific volume flow relates to standard conditions or operating conditions using the selected measurement unit. With gases, the operating temperature and the operating pressure are mandatory, as these parameters are essential for the layout of the measuring device. In the second step, this information is incorporated in full so that there is no further need to input the same information again.
In the third step, additional technical data about the application can be entered. As well as entering the pressure and temperature limits, the required process connection, installation position and accuracy can also be specified here.
In steps four to six, other configuration features, materials and required approvals can be selected.
In step seven, the result is displayed. This also includes a rating for the extent to which the requirements are met by the result and the reason for any adjustment made.
With this information, users can now choose the best possible device and download the relevant data sheet as a PDF file immediately on request.
The tool – which can be operated in English and German – also contains a detailed glossary which explains specific terms.
