The scientific CMOS camera system pco.edge achieves thermo-electrically controlled at 5°C an intra-scene dynamic of better than 1 : 27000, due to the low readout noise of 1.1median electrons.
This can be efficiently used in advanced microscopy techniques like structured illumination microscopy, light sheet microscopy and super resolution microscopy. Further a frame rate of 100 frames/s can be recorded at a resolution of 2560 x 2160 pixels up to the RAM limit of the computer or even more in an appropriate RAID-system. For this purpose a Camera Link Full interface is used. The pco.edge is available with monochrome and color image sensors and features a compact and small casing. Therefore the pco.edge is suitable from low light applications with only a few photons up to high contrast applications.
