Fast and cool: The S-IPC Intel® Atom Dual Core

The new S-IPC is equipped with a 1.66 GHz Intel® Atom Dual Core processor. The SpeedStep function of the Atom processor enables passive cooling using a heatsink. At high temperatures, a cooling fan is recommended. A 7-segment display and 6 status LEDs provide the user with information on the actual status.

For program and data storage, 2 Compact Flash cards can be used. 2 additional IDE devices, a hard drive or CD-ROM/DVD combo drive for example, can be connected with an exchangeable drive unit. Optionally, 2 PCI expansion cards can be inserted. Windows XP or 7 is provided as the operation system.

The S-IPC has 3x USB2.0, 2x Ethernet, 2x CAN, 2x DIAS as well as PS/2, LPT and 2x COM connections. An S-DVI, DVI and a VGA to connect operating and display units compliment the numerous interfaces.

By design, all connections and expansion/exchangeable modules are pluggable and accessible from the front. That simplifies installing, modifying and upgrading as well as servicing.
