UTS ergo line – safety cabinets with modern laboratory design

The world of laboratory furniture and equipment is increasingly undergoing a change to modern times. The trend towards puristic and at the same time functional furniture design is gaining ground. Accordingly, with the premiere of its new UTS ergo under-bench cabinet line, DUEPERTHAL caused a positive stir.

The new safety cabinets for under-bench installation are kept in a modern laboratory design – smooth cabinet surfaces and large door fronts are compatible with the harmonious furniture lines.

The functional design with "push-to-open" wing doors comes up trumps with intuitive user convenience. The doors are easily opened by gentle pressure on the front. A round "push" button indicates the "pressure point" and also signals to "new" users: "This is where it opens!“

The high utility factor of the new "push-to-open" wing door technology discloses itself on opening. Especially in combination with automatically extending pull-out trays, the new innovation provides unique user convenience. With the new wing door technology, both doors are opened synchronously with one hand. In addition, when the wing doors are opened the integrated pull-out tray automatically moves towards the user. This technology provides an optimum overview with one hand action and fast access to the stored hazardous substances. Naturally, in case of fire the doors are closed automatically by a thermocouple.

The user can choose the interior fitout and diverse accessories for themselves. The UTS ergo line models are all available with automatically extending pull-out trays, bottom tray or in combination. The standard colour of the doors is RAL 1018 zinc yellow or RAL 7035 light grey, although this can be adapted to the user’s CI.

Anyone who prefers modern access systems to classic locking technology can equip the UTS ergo line with the Modular Protection System, or MPS for short. With the MPS the door is unlocked using an RFID user card. In addition, time-controlled self-closing of the doors is possible.

DUEPERTHAL has set a further example with regard to ergonomics with its new ToeKick base. Until now the base variants of standard under-bench cabinets were low and were flush with the front of the cabinet. This no longer convenient solution was considered to be state of the art for many years.

Only the new ToeKick base provides the real solution! The base is 85 mm high and is set back by 50 mm, which provides sufficient clearance at the front to prevent users from hitting their toes against the base. Further, it is now possible to work closer, stably and in particular comfortably at the new UTS ergo line. The established features of under-bench cabinets, available now for years, such as base extraction or caster set for easy installation of the safety cabinet are of course also available for here.

The safety cabinets of the UTS ergo line with classification Type 90 (= fire resistance of 90 minutes) offer the highest possible fire safety to with EN 14470-1. The new cabinet line naturally also satisfies the requirements of other relevant standards as well as the quality standard EN 14727 for laboratory furniture. The UTS ergo line is therefore qualified for the storage of flammable liquids in accordance with TRbF 20 Annex L. Equally, DUEPERTHAL cabinets stand for sustainability in the laboratory. The new UTS ergo line cabinet series has also not only been awarded the GS mark by TÜV Süd but also the high-quality seal for higher standard design and workmanship, usability and increased life.
