Thwarting oil and water
Effective grip and a long service life combined with a high degree of flexibility and pure wearing comfort , characterise the new Multilayer Xtra Grip Technology from Profas GmbH, the centre of expertise for safety gloves in the uvex safety group.
This innovative coating technology is used in the new uvex Profas PROFI ERGO XG 20 A safety gloves for mechanical protection and the uvex Profas RUBIFLEX S XG 35B safety gloves for chemical protection.
Good adhesive properties are indispensable especially in wet or oily conditions and whether its sport, work or driving – without an adequate ‘grip’ a great deal of energy is wasted and the risk of accidents increased. This applies equally to safety gloves: lack of grip leads to unsafe work and an increased risk of injury. With the uvex Profas Multilayer Xtra Grip Technology these problems are efficiently eliminated and safety and cost-effectiveness in the workplace is increased.
‘The goal during the development of Multilayer Xtra Grip Technology was to significantly improve workplace safety through its extraordinary gripping properties in oily and wet conditions. We wanted to retain the existing product features and create technology that could be transferred to different safety glove designs and offers the customer an economical solution,’ stresses Franz Keller, managing director of Profas GmbH.
Effective grip, long service life, high degree of flexibility and pure wearing comfort are achieved through the multilayer structure based on a highly breathable cotton lining. A robust nitrile coating is combined with a special dense coating equipped with micro-channels. The micro-channels of the Multilayer Xtra Grip coating efficiently absorb moisture, providing a ‘dry’ grip. The unique surface structure is highly abrasion-resistant and ensures a long service life and improved cost-effectiveness.
